Theology and Apologetic Resources

Hanging Up the Resource Blog

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jeff @ 12:12 pm

In 1999 I started up the Resource Center for Theological Research. One of the purposes of this organization was to get into the hands of the average Christian (i.e. those not attending Bible Colleges or what have you)  good resources so they can be equipped to engage the culture.

I opened up rctr.org and began the Resource Index, designed to gather together in one place, theology and apologetics resources (e.g. books, audio, articles, etc.).  This has grown over the years and many people link to particular pages of this site on their own blogs and Websites (thank you).

I also started the Resource Report, which catalogued new resources produced in the areas of theology, apologetics and philosophy.  When I started this, most people did not have access to the material I included, without paying for it.  As technology changed, the Resource Report changed to the Resource Blog.  Technology continues to change and everything I include in the Blog can be accessed online, free of charge. It just takes a little work on your part.

Well, it has come time to hang up the resource blog.  One reason I’m hanging this up is due to the fact that I have not graduated college yet.  What does that have to do with the blog?  I spend too much time on things like this, and neglect was really needs to be done.   My family is also growing (baby #3 due any day), which is going to limit more of my time. Archives of past blog entries from 2004-2006 will stay online here.

My RCTR.ORG site will stay and I’ll continue with the Resource Index as time allows.

Lord willing, as I spend more time on studying and writing papers, I’ll be able to put some things together that will benefit the body of Christ.

For those who benefitted from the blog over the years, I apologize for dropping this, but this day should have come a long time ago.

  2. I am very disappointed, but also understand completely. Thank you so much for the hard work that maintaining these sites must have taken over the past few years. You have been a blessing to me and the entire Christian community.

  4. Jeff, I’m sorry to hear that you’re “closing shop” too. I completely understand, though, and am grateful for all that you’ve done until now. I wish you the best in your studies…and in organizing the upcoming conference. (I hope that you’ll never close THAT shop. :)

  5. Ah, just when I began!
I hope you get your college done soon, get paid in a full time ministry position and even get paid to research full time so you can do all of this, you are a godly man brother, keep up your good work in other areas as well, including the good programing at Unchained Radio

As a Reformed Baptist brother in the Lord, let me know if I can ever help out in any way…
